Viking Ship for the Bagenalstown Festival

High quality finish included copper tacks and hand-painted celtic designs...we fed the story of the boat-building to the local press each week, ensuring a lot of interest for the launch.

The finished ship fitted neatly over a small boat and floated on the river Barrow during the Festival.

Viking Ship for the Bagenalstown Festival

a show-stopping piece of insanity, designed to attract attention for this madcap Annual Festival. the ship fits like a shoe on a small boat, allowing it to sail and be transported easily.

The ship got plenty of press coverage and helped to boost Festival visitor numbers with the help of local Bagenalstown children dressed in period costume. We stole the show at the official launch of the Carlow Floral Festival Trail in August 2002.

We even staged a Viking Funeral using the ship to generate local press coverage for the Annual River Festival!
